Switched On Electrical Tas (ABN 73 648 796 874) is a licensed electrical contractor based in Legana, Tasmania. This page explains what we do with your information when you contact us through this website.
What we collect
When you fill in the quote form, we collect the details you type into it: your name, phone number, email address if you choose to give one, the type of work you need, and whatever you tell us about the job.
If you call us instead, we keep a note of your name, contact details and the job — the same information, just taken over the phone.
Our web host keeps standard server logs of visits to this site, including IP addresses. We do not use those logs to identify anyone; they exist for security and troubleshooting.
Why we collect it
To answer your enquiry, quote the work, and carry out the job if you go ahead with it. If you become a customer, we keep your details so we can service the work later and meet the record-keeping obligations that come with licensed electrical work.
We do not send marketing emails, and we do not add you to a mailing list.
Who sees it
Your enquiry is seen only by Switched On Electrical. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with third parties for their marketing.
We share it only where the work requires it or the law does:
- with a builder or head contractor when we are working on their site and they need to contact you directly
- with a supplier where an order has to be delivered to you
- where we are required to by law, or where we need it to establish or defend a legal claim
Form submissions arrive as an email in our own inbox, hosted by our email provider, and this website runs on hosting provided by Hostinger. Both hold the information as part of providing us that service — neither uses it for anything else.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not turn into work: roughly twelve months, then deleted.
Records relating to completed electrical work: at least five years, because certificates of electrical compliance and the job records behind them have to be retained.
Keeping it secure
This site is served over HTTPS, so what you type into the form is encrypted in transit. Access to our email and job records is restricted to the people in the business who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we do not hold payment card details on this site and we do not ask for information we do not need.
Content loaded from other companies
We do not embed reviews, maps, videos or tracking pixels on this site. Nothing on these pages reports your visit to an advertising or analytics company.
The recommendation figure shown on our homepage and contact page is plain text that we maintain, linking to our Facebook page. It loads nothing from Facebook, and Facebook is not told that you visited us unless you choose to follow that link.
Our page fonts are served from our own hosting.
Analytics and cookies
We do not run advertising trackers, and we do not use analytics software to build a profile of you. The cookies this site sets directly are the functional ones WordPress and our caching layer use to serve pages correctly.
You can block cookies in your browser and this site will still work.
Your information
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — except where we are required to keep records of completed electrical work. Email or call us and we will sort it out.
